The typeface Mosolyka

I had the privilege to work with Amondó Szegi well known Hungarian typographer. He taught me many things about this profession and let us hope that he will teach me some more.

In this assignment we had to create a typeface of our own. I used the line of smiles as a base to start from and gave my work the "smile" working title. During the 4 weeks of consultation I slowly created the lowercase and the uppercase letters and in the end i also did numbers and some marks too. I began by drawing with ink pen, but I proven to bee very bad with it, since my hands have a mind of their own. So I started using alcohol markers with a wide flat tip. I had tested out my aesthetics and created my rules to follow. Which resulted it the display font.

I really loved working on this and next time I get to it, I really would love to create something that can be used in real life too.
