Story board

I created this story in 2016, as a school assignment. It is about a girl living in an alternate dimension, to one day wake up to find that her world is collapsing. As part of the assignment we created a book out of our story.

From the first sketches to the final image.

In this world she was found on the doorstep of a monk who raised her as his own daughter. He named her Harmony. From a very young age she had nightmares of exploding cities and collapsing planets. Our story starts on the day of the destruction of her world, and the realisation that she was prepared for her whole life for that. My story is the beginning of hers as she flies out and leaves all behind to become a warrior in outer space.

I did a sketch of this character a couple summers ago, and used her for figure drawing in my first year of the school. I had such strong emotional attachment to her that I wrote the story around her in this assignment too.

This was my first ever storybook that I have written drawn and designed alone. I never would have imagined that one day I would be able to say this. I still love this tory and I sure am glad to have been able to do so.
